Ease of Operation
Where the economy and
flexibility is the primary requirement, our units can be controlled by a
single operator with simple manual operation. Operators are quick to
draw a parallel with ammonia compressor systems, and adapt easily to
absorption systems.
In larger plants,
operation is automatic with three control loops.
· Evaporator feed control.
· Absorber level control.
· Steam regulation for capacity
control
Flexible load /
temperature operation
Like compressor units,
Ammonia absorption units can be turned down on load for lower evaporator
temperatures. But the comparison ends here.
Unlike compressors, AAR
units can compensate for fluctuations in cooling water temperature and
load fluctuations, simply by increasing the heat supplied. For example;
take a unit designed for 20TR, -5oC, 130oC steam,
32oC cooling water.
An load of 25TR will
drop the temperature to about 0oC, in both compressor and
absorption units, other conditions being the same. But lifting the
steam temperature to about 140oC would restore -5oC,
at 25TR load. This flexibility is not available with compressors.
Characteristic features
of Guha AAR Systems
· Simple gravity reflux feed
without pure ammonia pump.
· Skid-mounted, pre-assembled
installation cuts down erection and commissioning time to a matter of
days.
· Our fool-proof rectifier
design ensures low L/G ratio, allowing lower turn-down ratios and high
operating efficiency. Other packed
tower designs suffer from fouling, thermal cracking and channeling.
That can be catastrophic, leading to water carry-over to evaporator, and
plant shut-down.
· Low ammonia hold-up in our
units ensures low hazard operation.
· Standard multi-stage boiler
feed water pumps, with standby, ensure ease of maintenance and
reliability.
· Implements latest GAX and
solution cooled absorbers for maximum energy utilization.
· Cooling water is provided on
the tube side for easy, mechanical cleaning. |
